London Lions Lose Heartbreaker 95-93 to Hapoel Tel Aviv. Sam Dekker’s 29 Points Unable to Stop the Lions from Falling to Their Third Straight Defeat, Despite Good Start to the Game
The London Lions took to the hardcourt at Wembley's OVO Arena and suffered a gut-wrenching 95-93 loss to Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Sam Dekker led the charge with 29 points, five rebounds, six assists, two blocks and one steal. The talisman fought gallantly, putting up 11 points in the first quarter and had 18 points by halftime.
3-point specialist Tomislav Zubcic connected three long-range shots en route to a 19-point, 4-rebound, 2-steal and one-assist display. The experienced shooter was almost light out from the charity stripe, sinking 8 of 9 of his free throw shots.
Just missing out on a double-double was Jordan Taylor, who brought his years of experience playing against teams from Israel to clock in a 19-point, 9-assist performance. The skilled playmaker also connected on a game-high five 3-points.
Kosta Koufos also missed out on claiming another double-double. The seven-footer put up 15 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and one steal.
