The dominant London Lions scored at will to cruise past the Newcastle Eagles 102-56 and continue to look unbeatable as their WBBL record moved to 9-0.

The balanced scoring attack of the Lions saw six players in double-digit scoring while Temi Fágbénlé maintained her unstoppable form with 25 points and six boards, going 12/13 from the field.  

American guard Shey Peddy made her league debut, filling the stat-sheet in her impressive debut with 10 points, five boards, seven assists and two steals.

The Newcastle Eagles came into the game inbad form having lost their previous three, including one in the Betty CodonaTrophy, and now remain narrowly in the play-offs with a losing record of 3-6.

In the first quarter, London stormed off toa 16-0 lead before the visitors finally scored from the free-throw line.

To end the quarter, Katsiaryna Snytsinadrained a buzzer-beater three to extend the Lions lead to 20 and go into thesecond 31-11 up.

In the second quarter, the Eagles had theirbest offensive output with 16 points but could do little about London scoringat will as the score reached 55-27 at halftime.

New guard, Shey Peddy, came into the foldseamlessly. Early during the third quarter she threatened to turn the ball over,as her pass was deflected but she recollected it on the ground and dimed up sniperKarlie Samuelson for a three just before the shot clock expired.

Half way through the third she executed asweet screen and roll with Savannah Wilkinson, delivering a bounce pass on themoney which was finished off the glass by Wilkinson. The quarter ended 83-42 infavour of the Lions.

The fourth quarter was the only quarter theLions didn’t score over 20, yet they finished the game with over 100 pointstotal. Their talent overcame the Eagles once more, as had happened earlier inthe season when the Lions scored an even more emphatic 115 points.

Next up for the Eagles they host the Leicester Riders and will be aiming to put an end to their four-game losing streak.

While the Lions travel to seventh-place Manchester Giants ahead of their first EuroCup quarter-final clash against Kayseri Basketbol.
