London Lions Claim 3rd Straight EuroCup Victory with Hard Fought 67-77 Win over Promitheas Patras. Sam Dekker Records a Game-High 20 Points, Whilst Josh Sharma and Kosta Koufos Fend off Promitheas with a Combined 6 Blocks.

Sam Dekker led from the front with a team and game-high 20 points to help the London Lions record yet another historic away victory for the London Lions.

The Wisconsin Badger alum was almost unstoppable in the paint, connecting on 87.5% (7 of 8) of his buckets, most of which were heavily contested. The combo forward also grabbed 4 rebounds and hit 2 much-needed 3-pointers, one of which with 01:12 left on the clock to virtually seal the win for the Londoners.

Greek national basketball player Kosta Koufos returned to familiar grounds and recorded 10 points and 9 rebounds whilst dishing out 3 assists. The big man also played a massive part in the Lions’ defensive identity blocking 3 shots to earn himself a game-high PIR of 21.

Josh Sharma was another integral figure in the Lions' defensive structure, stopping 3 Promitheas shots whilst grabbing 6 rebounds (4 of which were defensive), dishing out 2 well times assists and scoring 6 points.

Vojtech Hruban came off the bench and contributed 14 points and 6 rebounds whilst shooting 50% from the field, including 2 shots from long-range, both of which were back-to-back, pushing the Lions’ lead first quarter lead to 15-20 and 15-23, respectively.

Aaron Best led the Lions’ guards with a 13-point, 5-rebound effort. The Canadian playmaker shot 50% from the field and condemned Promitheas to their third defeat with 50 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter.

The Londoners outrebounded their Greek rivals 46-32. 13 of which were offensive rebounds that gave the Lions multiple second-chance opportunities to score.

This is the third straight game the London Lions have outrebounded their opponents, besting Slask Wroclaw 35-30 and Hamburg 31-30. The Lions also made scoring in the paint an issue for Promitheas holding them to a meagre 41.2% from inside the arc.
