The road to the 02 arena
You may have heard that it's the British Basketball League playoffs, but you might also be wondering, 'What are the playoffs?' and 'What does it all mean?' Let's delve into these questions as we aim for the final showdown on May 19th.
What are the playoffs?
The end of the 36-game regular season has now wrapped up, with the London Lions crowned league champions, but this does not mean it's the end of the road.
The real glory lies in the playoff championship. This is where the top 8 teams from the league fight for a place in the final at the iconic O2 Arena.
First, the quarter-finals are played in a best-of-3 series, followed by the semi-finals with the same format.
The winners proceed to the British Basketball League Playoff Finals, which take place at The O2 in London on May 19th.
Who are London playing next?
Standing in our way of that semi-final spot is the Surrey Scorchers. A side who are coming off the back of one of their best seasons in recent history. The first leg is at the Copper Box Arena on Sunday April 28th and tickets are 25% off until midnight tonight.
Who won last season

Last season, the Lions clinched the Basketball League playoff championship, defeating the Leicester Riders 88-80 in a breathtaking final. We'll be aiming to retain the crown in just a few weeks on May 19th.
