London Lions women’s coach Mark Clark praised his side’s defence as they continued their perfect start to the WBBL season.

Lions hammered Nottingham Wildcats 82-39 on Saturday to set up a second straight trip to the WBBL Trophy final before stretching their unbeaten start to the league season to 13 games with a 111-44 victory against Durham Palatinates on Sunday.

“Obviously it was really pleasing to get two more wins and reach another cup final, but the most pleasing thing was our exceptional defence against Nottingham” he said.
“We pride ourselves on defence and, regardless of the number of points we scored, I was really pleased with how many times we turned both opponents over, it was really impressive.
“The only disappointing thing was – apart from Cassie Breen who continues to shoot the ball really well – was that we didn’t make enough open shots.
“But we’re looking forward to another final and the run-in for the league title with some big games. Everything is going into the right direction with some exceptional performances and we’re managing the roster well with good minutes for everyone. It was a really productive weekend for us weekend for us and I’m very pleased.”
