Mark Clark is hoping that his side will continue their excellent form as they face Sevenoaks Suns in the WBBL Trophy final on Sunday lunchtime.
Current trophy holders Lions face Sevenoaks Suns in a battle of the top two women's teams in the country, and Clark is looking his second piece of silverware this season but knows that the Kent side will provide tough opposition:
"Every time we step on the floor, the opposition want to prove that they could also have competed in Europe" he said,
"It's a final and there would be something wrong if we weren't all excited about it. But it's all about maintaining our level and the standards we have set ourselves. If we can play consistently for 40 minutes we'll be okay.
"Everyone is fit and ready to go. It's great to have Leah [McDerment] back for us and is 100 percent fit, while Shequilla [Joseph] is fitting in nicely and gives us a lot of options. We have multiple players who can step up in a big game, we're 11 deep and with Cassie [Breen], Jo [Leedham] and Holly [Winterburn] all shooting well we're hard to guard. Azania [Stewart] is in great form and she showed in the BBL Cup final what she can do."
We're flying up on Saturday afternoon, having a shoot-around in the evening and then we'll be ready to play on Sunday lunchtime. It's perfect preparation, so we're looking to bring the Trophy home again."
