Justin Robinson admits that it would be a huge disappointment if he missed the BBL Championship Play-off final. The Lions will face Newcastle Eagles on Sunday evening but Robinson suffered an ankle injury in the 100-80 semi-final second leg victory against Plymouth Raiders on Thursday.

"It's tough, but these things happen. I'm waiting on the scan results but my chances of playing aren't great" he said.

"It would be a massive disappointment not to play, but I'm confident in my team. I'd love to be out there helping them and it will be a sad feeling to get this far after a long season, but I'm sure they can it done without me if necessary."

The Lions' supporting cast certainly stepped up after Robinson left the action on Thursday and the Great Britain international had praise for his team-mates after they overcame a 12-point first leg deficit: "It was an amazing performance" he said. "We didn't come out with a sense of focus in the first game, but we watched the tape, came back and corrected the mistakes. A lot of guys - Jordan Spencer, Shane Walker, Josh [Ward-Hibbert] and [DeAndre] Liggins - hit big shots, and everyone played their role and made it happen. I saw some crazy stats about how few teams have come back from double-digits losses in two leg games, and a lot of people counted us out against a very good Plymouth team. But I knew if any team could do it, it was us."

Robinson knows the Lions face another tough game against a Newcastle side who won the BBL Cup: "We've played them a lot and know all about them" he said.

"We know their main guys are [Rahmon] Fletcher, Cortez [Edwards] and [Justin] Gordon, and they have a lot of experience having been in plenty of finals before.

"But we have lots of firepower and if we're locked in I'm confident that we can bring the trophy back to London."
