International Coaching Development Programme: Meet the Coaches

In January, the London Lions launched the ‘International Coaching Development Programme,' to develop and train a new generation of British-based basketball coaches.

The International Coaching Programme is a 3-month development course created by the London Lions Basketball organisation for British-based coaches. The course was created for individuals aiming to pursue a full-time coaching career in basketball and want to learn and expand their knowledge of coaching concepts.

This programme will also teach the coaches how to deliver youth development initiatives, work with young athletes and develop them on and off the court. Applicants must also have a strong desire to work in a high-paced, team-oriented environment and be open to sharing and learning from others with similar career aspirations.

Recently, the coaches selected for the International Coaching Programme gathered at the London Lions HQ the ahead of their 3-month placement aboard. Whilst there, they opened up about what inspired them to to apply for this unique programme and their hopes for the future.
