Jonathan “Jono” Komagum to Have Season-Ending Surgery

The London Lions are sad to announce that Uganda national team player Jonathan “Jono” Komagum is out for the rest of the season.

Komagum, who signed for the Lion last summer following his time at NCAA Division 1 school Sacramento State, suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s game vs Bristol that will require season-ending surgery.

“Anytime you lose a player to a season-ending injury, it is difficult and seeing this happen to Jon-O hurts because he had become an important piece to our team during the second part of the season.

Watching him develop and improve this year has been one of the many highlights for me as a coach. This is a testament to his daily approach to training, his work ethic and his desire to get better each and every day. I have no doubt he will attack his rehab with the same approach and mindset and come back as an even better player.”

 - Ryan Schmidt, London Lions Men’s Team Head Coach

The 6’9 forward had recently achieved a BBL Championship career-high points total vs Surrey and a career-high rebound tally against Newcastle.

The London Lions Basketball organisation wishes Jonathan Komagum a speedy recovery.
