American-British guard, Karlie Samuelson, will be joining the London Lions for the 2023/24 season.
Samuelson is currently playing WNBA for the Los Angeles Sparks, after which she will join the London Lions roster for the 23/24 season. Samuelson debuted for the Sparks in 2017 and has since played with multiple WNBA teams, as well as picking up EuroLeague and EuroCup experience with Castors Braine and Perfumerias Avenida.
Vanja Cernivec, London Lions General Manager said
'We are delighted that Karlie will be joining the Lions after her WNBA season with the Sparks. She brings both EuroLeague and WNBA experience with her and to have another GB star in our roster for this ambitious season, is super exciting. Karlie will be a real asset to us on and off the court, we can’t wait to welcome her into the Lions family.'
The 6'0" shooting guard attended Stanford University, finishing with 249 career three-pointers, third in the school's record books. After joining the Los Angeles Sparks in 2017 and suffering an injury in training camp; Samuelson had to wait until May 2018 for her WNBA debut with the Sparks.
With stints in Italy's Serie A1 and across Europe, Samuelson also chose to play Internationally for team GB, debuting in February 2018 and helping the team qualify for Eurobasket 2019.
