London Lions Release Kennedy Leonard
The London Lions have officially released GB national player Kennedy Leonard.
The Chicago-raised playmaker and former University of Colorado star joined the London Lions in 2020 after one season with German side Herner.
During her two years with the club, Kennedy Leonard achieved several major feats, including winning six major trophies, which she complimented with three MVP awards. In 2021, Leonard shattered the previous WBBL single-game assists record, dishing out 21 dimes in a dominating victory over the Caledonia Pride.
The former GB U20 star leaves the club having averaged 13.0 points, 8.8 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game in the WBBL and 8.8 points, 4.1assists and 3.6 rebounds per game in the FIBA EuroCup.
Kennedy’s impact was felt on and off the court, and we at the London Lions are proud she wore and played for our jersey with pride. Thank you!
