London Lions to Participate in Jr. NBA European Finals
The London Lions are honoured to announce that the club has been invited to the inaugural Jr. NBA European Finals on June 21st – June 24th in Valencia, Spain.
The Jr. NBA European Finals is a top-level competition that will host six U-15 boys’ teams and six U-15 girls’ teams, players born in 2008 or younger.
The teams will compete in a championship-format tournament of 24 total games, NBA skills challenge and a 3-point contest and be given the opportunity for an off-court Valencia City visit across the four days. As part of their growth and development, the players will also have the chance to participate in an NBA media day and life skills sessions with an NBA Ambassador.
The London Lions are sending a U-15 boys’ team and a U-15 girls’ team to the Jr. NBA European Finals to participate amongst some of the best players of their generation.
Trials for the select teams will be held at the University of East London, Sports Dock on May 23rd & 24th, from 5:30pm – 8pm.
The top 12 players selected for each team will be invited back to participate in 3-day pre-tournament practices in London, ahead of the European Finals, on June 17th-19th.
London Lions’ captain and Commonwealth silver medallist Shanice Beckford-Norton and coaches from our recent International Coaching Development Programme will lead the tryouts.
