London Lions' coach Vince Macaulay remained positive despite his side suffering a heart-breaking loss at Avtodor Saratov on Saturday.
Phil Scrubb drained a late three-pointer to seal a FIBA Europe Cup victory for the Russian League leaders, leaving Macaulay disappointed but still pleased with his side's performance:
"That was a tough one, I think they started with a three and ended with one, but generally we did a great job" he said.
"We needed to use our quickness to keep their shooters away from the basket, and our game-plan worked right until the dying seconds.
"But I'm really proud with how we kept our focus despite being two players down and we're continuing to learn how to play in Europe. It's all part of the development process for the club, and we're a long way down the line now."
The big games keep coming for Lions, and they left Russia on Sunday evening to fly to Denmark to prepare for Wednesday night's game against Bakken Bears.
