During Clark’s tenure as Head Coach, the London Lions women have secured seven titles across WBBL competitions
London Lions Womens’ Head Coach, Mark Clark, is to step up into a Senior Advisor role for the London Lions, in a move that sees his dominant reign as Head Coach come to an end.
Mark’s new role as a Senior Advisor within the London Lions senior management team is effective immediately.
Mark Clark said:
‘I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved in the women’s’ game and in such a short space of time. I’d like to thank all the players and support staff that helped us on this incredibly successful programme. Whilst I’m disappointed to not continue that journey in the Head Coach role, I’m excited to turn my focus to helping the Lions expand their footprint within British Basketball and growing the sport domestically.’
During Clark’s tenure as Head Coach, the London Lions women have secured 7 titles across WBBL competitions and are currently at a 51 game unbeaten streak.
London Lions Womens’ GM Vanja Cernivec said:
‘I want to thank Mark Clark for all that he has done for British basketball, especially on the women’s side. I strongly believe that he will continue to make positive change for future basketball players in the UK, in his new senior management role with the Lions. I look forward to working with him to build the game in the UK more effectively and see him continue his legacy in an off-court capacity.’
The London Lions will announce a new Head Coach in the near future.
