Avtodor Saratov coach Emil Rajković had praise for London Lions after his side won 104-77 at the Copper Box, on Tuesday.

“It was a nice crowd and a good atmosphere” the Macedonian play-caller after a win that had sent his side into the quarter-finals of the FIBA Europe Cup.

“I’d like to say Lions played well, but it was really important game for us, my guys played really well and we controlled the game pretty well with a double digit lead throughout most of the game. Maybe the fact that London didn’t have the chance to go to next stage effected them a bit but my guys played well.”

It was a tough night defensively for the Lions as Saratov hit 14 of their 25 three-point efforts, but Rajković didn’t have any criticism of the hosts’ defence:

“We are the number one shooting team in both competitions we play in, we have experienced guys and they had a good night offensively. We needed to win and move on to the next stage.”
