Lions’ captain Justin Robinson was delighted with his side’s 97-89 victory at Cheshire Phoenix on Sunday and had praise for young guard Bradley Kaboza:

Kaboza has been drafted into Lions’ BBL injury-hit squad after some impressive performances in the Division One team and Robinson was delighted with how he played:

“Bradley gave us some amazing minutes” he said. “He came in and hit a big three and brought some defence for us. He’s an intensive ball of energy and I’m really pleased with the youthful energy he brings us.
“It was a good win for us against a crafty team with a good bunch of Brits and some talented American. We’re a bit banged up with a lot of injuries, but we found a way to get a win at a place that’s always tough to play in. Kylor [Kelley] played really well and Lorenzo [Cugini] hit some big shots. But it was a real team effort and everyone brought something that helped us get the win.”

Robinson continued his comeback from injury, and was pleased with his performance:

“I played about 25 minutes, it’s great to be back and it felt okay but I’m a bit sore today. It’s a case of resting up and getting ready for the next game.”

Lions are now up to fifth in the table with plenty of games in hand over the sides ahead of them and have the second fewest number of defeats. They travel to Manchester Giants on Thursday before facing Phoenix in the BBL Trophy final at Emirates Arena, Glasgow, on Sunday.
