Captain Justin Robinson praised the Copper Box Crowd after London Lions wrapped up their FIBA Europe Cup campaign with an 82-75 victory against Bakken Bears on Wednesday night.

Dirk Williams on his way to a 23 point night
"The crowd was crazy, they were fantastic and it made it a great night" said the English guard. "Dirk [Williams] and Kylor [Kelley] got them going in the third [period] but the fans deserve a lot of credit for helping us win the that game."

Robinson was delighted to finish Lions' foray into Europe with a victory:

"We wanted to finish with a win, no one wants to go 0-6 in a group stage" he said. "We are the first British team to qualify for the second stage and the first British team to win a game in it, so we should be proud of that. It was also good to send Marquis [Teague] and Aurimas [Majaukas] home with a win.

"It was a really gritty game, we started slowly as they came out hot, but in the third period we showed a lot of togetherness and the crowd provided us with a lot of energy."

The Lions captain is now looking for his team to step up in their BBL campaign starting with their home game against Leicester Rides on Sunday Tickets On Sale Now.

"We need to beat Leicester, and we can't afford to drop any more games, so we need to get two wins against them and hope they drop a game or two. We also have the Trophy semi-final [against Bristol Flyers] and at this stage it's all about silverware. We're trying to win every game and be as successful as possible."

Robinson has been out of action recently with a recurrence of the ankle injury suffered in last year's BBL play-off final, and he admitted his frustration at missing games:

"I was really starting to feel like myself again, so it's frustrating to be out of action" he said. "I was able to push off and explode again, but it's getting better and I don't think it's a major problem. I'm doing plenty of cardio work and I'm hopeful that I will be be back in ten days or so and be ready to pick up where I left off. We have a lot of games to play, so I'm trying to stay in shape and be ready when I return."
