Sam Dekker Receives 2022-23 All-EuroCup Second Team Selection

The London Lions would like to congratulate Sam Dekker for being selected for the 2022-23 All-EuroCup Second Team selection.

Dekker finished the season ranked second among all EuroCup scorers with 18.2 points whilst posting 5.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and a team-high 1.2 steals, following a historic and milestone-setting first season with the London Lions.

Having first experienced EuroCup competition playing for Lokomotiv Kuban during the 2019-20 season, Dekker achieved several EuroCup career highs this past season. These feats included career-high points, rebounds, assists, 3-pointers, blocks, and steal totals.

The resilient talisman fought through adversity this season, having sustained an injury in the first EuroCup game against Hapoel Tel Aviv. Less than five minutes into the encounter, where Dekker had gone two for two in the paint, the forward suffered an ankle injury that kept him out for two weeks. In his return game against Buducnost VOLI, Dekker recorded 15 points, five rebounds and six assists.

The 2022 FIBA Europe Cup champion is joined on the EuroCup second team by J'Covan Brown from Hapoel Tel Aviv, Onuralp Bitim from Bursaspor, Bruno Caboclo from Ratiopharm Ulm and Tyrique Jones from Turk Telekom Ankara.
